15dot4-tools Hardware: Dresden SAM7S USB Stick
Description
These USB Sticks have a SAM7S256 device on them, giving much more SRAM and processing speed compared to the AVR USB stick. This allows the sniffer to perform under much higher load where the AVR version will drop packets.
Sources
There is one source for these sticks: Dresden Electronik. http://www.dresden-elektronik.de/shop/prod118.html
Programming Tools
The USB sticks bring out the JTAG programming leads on a 50mil header. Dresden Electronik sells a programming adaptor, the SAM-ICE-Adaptor which can be used to connect any JTAG tool to the stick http://www.dresden-elektronik.de/shop/prod123.html.
JTAG Programmers which could be used include:
- Atmel SAM-ICE, cost about $100 USD. Can be used as a debugger.
- Olimex JTAG Tools, cost 20-40 EUR depending on model. Can be used as a debugger.
- Variety of other tools, google “SAM7S JTAG Programmer” or similar.
