SASEBO-GII Development Board

Archived from the site that ran here before WordPress, and reproduced as written — links and prices and "coming soon"s included. Nothing on this page is maintained.

The Side-channel Attack Standard Evaluation BOard SASEBO-GII is designed to make facilitating evaluation of different side-channel attacks or measurement techniques easier. Researchers around the world can use the same hardware to compare measurement techniques. They even publish various measurements taken with the board for those only working on algorithms, so one can be confident they are comparing with the same baseline.

There is a quick-start guide available, so I won’t duplicate that information here. I will however mention addition features I didn’t see documented, such as how to use the USB JTAG.

  1. Somewhat advanced Getting Started Guide
  2. Using JTAG over USB
  3. Building Example Capture App
  4. Running CPA Tool on Linux
  5. Installing AIST Waveform Capture Tool on Scope

You may also want to check out my SASEBOW page for hints specific to that board. In particular I got the OpenADC running on it & again made some notes on using the USB for programming.
